Because of the remotenes, difficult terrain, and lack of viable roads, many of the tribes (like the H00lies) that inhabit the highlands are just now emerging from the dark ages. Men still live together in Male lodges, and may have more than wife, for which they build separate houses, with moats as shown below.

On special occasions tribes gather from deep in the sorrounding hills for a sing sing. A day of dressing up and dancing competition by both males and females.

While Mary made friends at the cross-path market place , I made friends with a white parrot which where everywhere in the woods.
And so we left the Highlands. They will never be the same as gold, oil, and timber, bring in the modern world to that remote area.
